13 Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast transgressed against the Lord thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice, saith the Lord.
14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
15 And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the Lord, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Lord: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.

1 In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD'S house should be built.
3 Then came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
5 Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
8 Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.
9 Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
10 Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.

Glory to God. The Holy Spirit has returned to this text again to let us know we are operating outside of His time. And I noticed as I read this today that He greatly emphasizes the word time in the beginning verses so this lets us know it is the theme of what He wants to highlight. He says, “This people say, the time is not come”-then He repeats again the time. Lastly, He asks the question-I”s it time for you to dwell in your ceiled house and this house lie waste?” And as a consequence of His house lying in waste, the finances of the people were greatly impacted because God sent a drought to all the labor of their hands.
תהילה לאל. רוח הקודש חזרה שוב לטקסט הזה כדי ליידע אותנו שאנחנו פועלים מחוץ לזמנו. ושמתי לב כשקראתי את זה היום שהוא מדגיש מאוד את המילה "זמן" בפסוקים הראשונים, כך שזה מבהיר לנו שזה הנושא שהוא רוצה להדגיש. הוא אומר, "העם הזה אומר, לא הגיע הזמן" - ואז הוא חוזר שוב על הזמן. לבסוף, הוא שואל את השאלה - האם הגיע הזמן שתשב בביתך המצופה והבית הזה חרב?" וכתוצאה מכך שביתו חרב, מצבם הכלכלי של העם נפגע קשות משום שאלוהים שלח בצורת על כל עמל ידיו.
As children of God, we must be aware of time and what it is time for us to do according to the Lord. For the Lord tells us in Ecclesiastes 3, There is a season and time for every activity under the heavens. This same chapter goes on to reveal there is a time to tear down and a time to build, however the scripture doesn’t say there is a time to dwell in our ceiled houses! Is it possible we are misusing our time? Could we be focusing on the wrong thing on the calendar of the Lord?
כילדי אלוהים, עלינו להיות מודעים לזמן ולמה הזמן שלנו לעשות על פי ה'. כי ה' אומר לנו בקהלת ג': "יש עת וזמן לכל מעשה תחת השמים". אותו פרק ממשיך ומגלה שיש עת להרוס ועת לבנות, אולם הכתובים לא אומרים שיש עת לשבת בבתים המקורים שלנו! האם ייתכן שאנו משתמשים לרעה בזמננו? האם ייתכן שאנו מתמקדים בדבר הלא נכון בלוח השנה של ה'?
In our text, the Lord tells us specifically what the time is on His calendar. He sends this Word to redirect our efforts on where our concentration should be which is a time to build His house that is lying in waste. Please know, the House of the Lord shall never be waste in the eyes of the Lord. It should never be a place that is neglected, despised, or seen as no real value in our eyes. For God has already declared, “For the Lord shall comfort Zion: He will comfort all her waste places; and He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.”

Our God will help us build and turn what is a waste place now to His comfort. I pray, we hear the Word of the Lord for He has the power of drought in His hands. We can bring in wages, and He can blow our wages away. He can change our increase to little, and tell the heavens to stay and hold back prosperity. Let our ears hear what God is saying and ask Him to help us make the right adjustments to be in accordance to His time and not our time.
אלוהינו יעזור לנו לבנות ולהפוך את מה שנחשב כעת לשממה לנחמתו. אני מתפלל, שנשמע את דבר ה' כי כוח הבצורת בידיו. אנו יכולים להביא שכר, והוא יכול לרוקן את שכרם. הוא יכול לשנות את גידולנו למעט, ולומר לשמיים להישאר ולעכב את השגשוג. תנו לאוזנינו לשמוע את דברי אלוהים ונבקש ממנו לעזור לנו לבצע את ההתאמות הנכונות כדי להיות בהתאם לזמנו ולא לזמננו.
Prayer:
Father, let us take the right steps to humble before you and hearken to Your voice so the heavens won’t be stayed over our lives. Thank you for being our God and making us Your people. Oh Lord God, let us not take Your long suffering for granted. Let us not take our ceiled homes for granted and choose our homes over your House. We desire to maintain the blessing and be far from Your drought so help us Lord. Now Lord, stir up our spirits in Jesus name to obey and do Your will. Stir up the spirit of obedience and a willingness to build the House of the Lord. Lord, let us obey so the drought will reverse, and our land and lives will return to blessed. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
איכה ו', כא השב אותנו אליך יהוה ונשוב חדש ימינוכמקדם
The true and living God we serve is a God who has power to renew all things for the Word of God tells us this. There may be things you are dealing with in life and you desire change, but the change you want deep down inside is being contended or held back by forces greater than you. And such was the case regarding Israel in the book of Lamentations. For Israel wrongly trusted that Babylon would be a help to them, and they quickly learned as God said, “Vain is the help of man.” And instead of helping Israel, Babylon came in and destroyed Israel both inside and outside. Life changed before there very eyes and Israel saw days of joy, dominion, and prosperity vanish before their eyes because the help they depended on had departed.
האל האמיתי והחי שאנו משרתים הוא אלוהים שיש לואת הכוח לחדש את הכל, כי דבר אלוהים אומר לנו זאת. ייתכן שיש דברים שאתם מתמודדים איתם בחיים ואתםרוצים שינוי, אך השינוי שאתם רוצים עמוק בפנים נתקלבהתנגדות או מעוכב על ידי כוחות גדולים מכם. וכך היהגם במקרה של ישראל בספר איכה. כי ישראל בטחובטעות שבבל תהיה להם לעזר, והם למדו במהרה כפישאלוהים אמר, "הבל עזרת אדם". ובמקום לעזורלישראל, בבל נכנסה והשמידה את ישראל מבפניםומבחוץ. החיים השתנו לנגד עיניהם ממש, וישראל ראהימים של שמחה, שלטון ושגשוג נעלמים לנגד עיניהםמשום שהעזרה עליה הם תלויים נעלמה.
No one expects that someone you depend on will no longer be there, however it can happen. And when Babylon came and rose up against Israel, the people begin to wail and cry out to the Lord. They prayed, “Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.” When something is renewed-it is repaired or made new again. It is to restore to perfection and a fresh start begins to emerge. Yes, Israel was asking the Lord to repair their nation, to restore their lives back to the perfection, and give them a fresh start. They desperately needed God to turn to them again, and they understood how to get it done.

Israel knew, if they could simply turn to the Lord their God with all their heart-He would come to their rescue. They knew He had the power to renew their days of old because He promised to be their God forever and He has promised the same to you. They desired that the days they were faced then would be renewed back to what they called the days of old. These were days when the face of the Lord looked toward them for their good and not evil. They were days the presence and Holy Spirit rested on them and His blessings rained down. They were days of happiness, joy; days of the bridegroom and bride, and also days of safety and no fear. These were the days they hoped would return so they cried to God in their prayers- “Lord renew our days of old.”

Beloved, the Lord must turn toward you and not hide His face. For if He hides His face, your persecutors can become too strong for you. But when He turns His face toward you again and you return your heart toward Him again-then His renewing process can begin. For when you are in right standing with God according to His definition, then God begins to be a trouble to all who trouble you! God is pleading with Israel saying, Turn and return to Me. Glory to God!
אהובים, על ה' לפנות אליכם ולא להסתיר פניו. כי אםיסתיר פניו, רודפיכם עלולים להיות חזקים מדי מכם. אךכאשר יפנה פניו אליכם שוב ואתם תשובו אליו שוב - אזתהליך ההתחדשות שלו יכול להתחיל. כי כאשר אתםבמעמד ישר עם אלוהים על פי הגדרתו, אז אלוהיםמתחיל להיות צרה לכל מי שצורר אתכם! אלוהים מתחנןבפני ישראל ואומר, שובו ושובו אליי. תהילה לאל!
What will God renew? The Bible provides answers for the things He will renew. First, Isaiah 40:31 says the Lord shall renew their strength and they shall mount up with wings as eagles. It continues to say, “they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Let us pray-“Oh Lord God, please renew my strength this day.” Moreover, Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” However, that is not all for the Lord also renews fallen kingdoms. The prophet Samuel told the people in 1 Samuel 11:14, “Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.” There may be nations where there is no help from man-but God has the power to help and shine on that nation. He is so powerful, if He desires He can renew a kingdom to greatness.
מה יחדש אלוהים? התנ"ך מספק תשובות לדברים שהואיחדש. ראשית, ישעיהו מ', 31 אומר שה' יחדש את כוחםויעלו כנשרים כנפיים. הוא ממשיך ואומר: "ירוצו ולאיגעו; הלכו ולא יגעו. הבה נתפלל - "אדוני אלוהים, חדשנא כוחי היום". יתר על כן, תהילים נ"א, 10 אומר: "ברא לי לב נקי, אלוהים, ורוח ישרה חדש בקרבי". עםזאת, זה לא הכל, כי ה' מחדש גם ממלכות שנפלו. הנביאשמואל אמר לעם בשמואל א', 11, 14: "לכו ונלך גלגלונחדש שם את הממלכה". אולי יש גויים שבהם אין עזרהמאדם - אבל לאלוהים יש את הכוח לעזור ולהאיר עלאותה גוי. הוא כה חזק, שאם הוא חפץ הוא יכול לחדשממלכה לגדולה.
Beloveds, you don’t have to sit in the same spot without progression or place your trust in the vain help of man. No! You have a God who possesses the power to make one rise and shine! You have a God who can direct His glory and light upon you, and who can renew when you can’t lift up your head on our own. Therefore, when you pray- remember to ask Him to renew your life for He holds the power to even renew the days of old.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we cry out to You today for strength and help. We have been forsaken, but not forgotten. We have been casted down, but not casted out. Please God be merciful and arise so our enemies will be scattered. We commit to return our hearts to fearing You and keeping Your commandments. We look to You, oh God, for our help for the help of man has departed from us. Send help from Heaven and save us. Lord, save us from ourselves; save us from the strong; and save us from invisible forces we cannot see. Save us from the wicked devices of men and the plans we know not of. Father, rise from Your throne, and see us for we are brought low. Be a terror to those who terrorize us and let them know of a sure-You are the Lord our God. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Psalm 114:1-8
1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language
2 Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion.
3 The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8 Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

Glory to God. One of the greatest stories in the Bible which has been a hope to God’s people was when God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt. In this story we saw how the children of Israel were enslaved in bondage, and it seemed there would never be a way out. But then, God arose for them and with His Mighty Hand and acts-He brought them out. This was a monumental event, however He never said we wouldn’t experience other “mini Egypt’s” in our lives.
תהילה לאל. אחד הסיפורים הגדולים ביותר בתנ"ך, אשר היווה תקווה לעמו של אלוהים, היה כאשר אלוהים הוציא את בני ישראל ממצרים. בסיפור זה ראינו כיצד בני ישראל היו משועבדים, ונראה היה שלעולם לא תהיה דרך מוצא. אך אז, אלוהים קם עבורם, ובידו החזקה ובמעשיו הוציא אותם. זה היה אירוע אדיר, אך הוא מעולם לא אמר שלא נחווה "מיני-מצרים" נוספים בחיינו.
A definition of an “Egypt” is anything that holds us in bondage and causes us to bow to its will over the will of the Lord for our lives. Thus, we should always be on guard for things that start out one way, but then transform into an Egypt over us. So, we must ask-What has become an Egypt in our lives? Is it a career? Is it a person? Is it relationship? Is it a system we have relied on? Is it a belief that is not truth? Remember, an Egypt is anything that holds something or someone in bondage against their will. And the thing to know about an Egypt is God will destroy if they refuse to let you go!
הגדרה של "מצרים" היא כל דבר שמחזיק אותנו בעבדות וגורם לנו להשתחוות לרצונה על פני רצון ה' בחיינו. לכן, עלינו תמיד להיות ערנייםלדברים שמתחילים בצורה מסוימת, אך לאחר מכן הופכים למצרים מעלינו. לכן, עלינו לשאול - מה הפך למצרים בחיינו? האם זו קריירה? האם זואדם? האם זו מערכת יחסים? האם זו מערכת שעליה הסתמכנו? האם זו אמונה שאינה אמת? זכרו, מצרים היא כל דבר שמחזיק משהו או מישהובעבדות בניגוד לרצונו. והדבר שכדאי לדעת על מצרים הוא שאלוהים יהרוס אם הם יסרב לשחרר אותך!
Moreover, an Egypt will also demand total authority in your life, and will attempt to reduce you to being a servant, and a slave either physically, mentally, spiritually, financially, or emotionally. God forbid! Again, the good news is- God rises up over mini Egypts and brings them down. He will utterly destroy them. For when God was finished with the Egypt over His people-it made the people of the Earth tremble.
יתר על כן, מצרים גם תדרוש סמכות מוחלטת בחייכם, ותנסה להפוך אתכם למשרת ועבד, פיזית, נפשית, רוחנית, כלכלית או רגשית. חס וחלילה! החדשות הטובות הן - אלוהים קם על מצרים הקטנים ומפיל אותם. הוא ישמיד אותם לחלוטין. כי כאשר אלוהים סיים עם מצרים על עמו - זה גרם לאנשי הארץ לרעוד.
Did God make you a homeborne slave? Who has God authorized to take away His authority? Certainly not an Egypt! But as long as His people stayed in Egypt-their dominion stayed away from them. In Jesus name, your dominion will no longer stay away from you! The Lord says in this passage, “When Israel went out of Egypt”. Note, He says when they went out, thus we must go out of every Egypt that forms in our lives. And when Israel came out of the Egypt, we next see a sanctuary and dominion.
האם אלוהים הפך אותך לעבד ביתי? את מי אלוהים הסמיך לקחת את סמכותו? בוודאי שלא מצרים! אבל כל עוד עמו נשאר במצרים - שלטונו נשאר מהם. בשם ישוע, שלטונו לא יתרחק עוד ממך! אלוהים אומר בקטע זה, "כאשר יצא ישראל ממצרים". שימו לב, הוא אומר שכאשר הם יצאו, לכן עלינו לצאת מכל מצרים שנוצרת בחיינו. וכאשר ישראל יצא ממצרים, אנו רואים מקדש ושלטון.
Please know, once you leave an Egypt situation it will require a sanctuary to remain out of it. Without a sanctuary, another Egypt will form. What is a sanctuary? One definition is a place where you meet God. You will need a sanctuary in your heart, your home, and in your personal walk with God. It could be as simple as a place you go to pray, or a time you stop where you are and ask for the help of the Lord. A sanctuary is where you cry out to God in prayer to be your help and your guide. And when you have a sanctuary, you can begin to hear from God for yourself and know you are in His will and keeping His commandments. Egypt didn’t encourage a sanctuary for God’s people because it wanted to be their God. And one identifier of a mini Egypt is it will push you from having a true sanctuary and draw you to dependence on earthly things, and not the Lord God. But when God arises in your life, He becomes the sanctuary for He is our all and all, and He is the Lord not man!
דעו, ברגע שתעזבו מצב של מצרים, יידרש מקלט כדי להישאר מחוץ לו. בלי מקלט, תיווצר מצרים אחרת. מהו מקלט? הגדרה אחת היא מקום שבו אתם פוגשים את אלוהים. תזדקקו למקלט בלבכם, בביתכם ובהליכה האישית שלכם עם אלוהים. זה יכול להיות פשוט כמו מקום שאתם הולכים אליו להתפלל, או זמן שבו אתם עוצרים במקום בו אתם נמצאים ומבקשים את עזרת ה'. מקלט הוא המקום שבו אתם צועקים לאלוהים בתפילה שיהיה לכם לעזרה ולמדריך. וכאשר יש לכם מקלט, אתם יכולים להתחיל לשמוע מאלוהים בעצמכם ולדעת שאתם נמצאים ברצונו ומקיימים את מצוותיו. מצרים לא עודדה מקלט לעם ה' משום שרצתה להיות אלוהיהם. ואחד המזהים של מצרים מיניאטורית הוא שהיא תדחוף אתכם מלהיות מקלט אמיתי ותמשוך אתכם לתלות בדברים ארציים, ולא באלוהים. אבל כאשר אלוהים עולה בחייכם, הוא הופך למקלט כי הוא הכל שלנו, והוא ה' ולא אדם!
Secondly, once there was a departure from Egypt dominion also appeared. As long as an Egypt remains- your dominion will remain dormant. But when they “went out of Egypt” we see God also releasing His dominion into their lives. Daniel 4:3 says, “How great are His signs! and how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation.” In the name of Jesus, remember that God’s will for His people is to come out of everything that desires to hold us bound. Yes, we may be in Egypt situations from time to time, but we must always have a desire and will to come out of them. If God brought thousands of people out of Egypt before, certainly He can bring you out of the Egypt you face today. In Jesus name-come out of Egypt, build a sanctuary in your life for His glory, and may God release dominion so His blessings will increase in your life.
שנית, לאחר שהייתה יציאה ממצרים, הופיע גם שלטון. כל עוד מצרים נותרת - שלטונם יישאר רדום. אבל כשהם "יצאו ממצרים" אנו רואים את אלוהים משחרר את שלטונו לחייהם. דניאל ד', ג' אומר: "מה גדולים אותותיו ומה אדירים נפלאותיו! מלכותו מלכות עולם ושלטונו מדור לדור". בשם ישוע, זכרו שרצון אלוהים לעמו הוא לצאת מכל מה שרוצה לכבול אותנו. כן, אנו עשויים להיות במצבים של מצרים מעת לעת, אך עלינו תמיד להיות בעלי רצון ורצון לצאת מהם. אם אלוהים הוציא אלפי אנשים ממצרים בעבר, בוודאי שהוא יכול להוציא אתכם ממצרים שאתם עומדים בפניה היום. בשם ישוע - צאו ממצרים, בנו מקדש בחייכם לתפארתו, ומי ייתן ואלוהים ישחרר את שלטונו כדי שברכותיו יגדלו בחייכם.
Prayer:
Father, You are God who brings us out with the unmatched strength of Your Right Hand. Lord, every Egypt in our lives that has vowed to not let us go and keep us in bondage-Father, we call upon Your Name and the work of Your Right Hand to bring us out. Lord, the Egypt that is set on keeping dominion away from us-Father, make a way and help us to come out of that Egypt. Father, release us from every Egypt of our minds. Release us from every Egypt in our hearts. Release us from every Egypt that is using wicked devices against us. We pray, further not their wicked devices less they exalt themselves. Grant not the desires of the wicked over us and forsake not the prayers of Your people. We cry to you today as Your people did before-save us out of trouble and save us out of all our distress. Be not a terror unto us and proclaim Your liberty, oh God. Proclaim your liberty. Again, we cry, oh God-turn the mischief and evil doings of the wicked on their own heads, and further not their wicked devices. Visit us, oh Lord and all will know-You are the Lord. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
תפילה: אבא, אתה אלוהים אשר מוציא אותנו בכוח ימינך שאין שני לו. אדוני, כל מצרים בחיינו אשר נשבעה לא לשחרר אותנו ולשמור אותנו בעבדות - אבא, אנו קוראים לשמך ולמעשה ימינך להוציא אותנו. אדוני, מצרים אשר נחושה להרחיק את השליטה מאיתנו - אבא, פנה דרך ועזור לנו לצאת ממצרים זו. אבא, שחרר אותנו מכל מצרים שבמחשבותינו. שחרר אותנו מכל מצרים שבלבנו. שחרר אותנו מכל מצרים המשתמשת בתוכניות רעות נגדנו. אנו מתפללים, אל תקדם את תוכניותיהם הרעות כדי שלא יתנשאו את עצמן. אל תענה לתשוקות הרשעים עלינו ואל תזנח את תפילות עמך. אנו צועקים אליך היום כפי שעשה עמך קודם לכן - הושיע אותנו מצרה והושיע אותנו מכל מצוקתנו. אל תהיה לנו לפחד והכרז על חירותך, אלוהים. הכרז על חירותך. שוב, אנו צועקים, אלוהים - הפוך את שובבותיהם ומעשי הרשע של הרשעים על ראשם, ואל תקדם את תוכניותיהם הרעות. בקר אותנו, אלוהים, וכל ידעו - אתה אלוהים. בשם ישוע אנו מתפללים, אמן.

10 Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.
13 My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
14 And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
15 And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.
16 But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

9 ואמרת אל עם הארץ כה אמר יהוה אלהי יושבי ירושלם וארץ ישראל יאכלו לחמם בדאגה ומימיהם ישתו בתדהמה למען תהיה ארצה שממה מכל אשר בה מפני חמס כל יושביה
